Jewellery Maintenance

Plating & Polishing

A 2-step restoration service for getting rid of stubborn dirt and scratches to make your gold jewellery shine with brilliant lustre again.

We are unable to plate and polish jewellery that is not made of gold or silver and items with stone settings will have to be assessed before we can confirm if plating can be done as certain materials will be damaged when in contact with our plating chemicals.

Please note that there will be a very slight weight difference as a very small amount of gold dust will be removed during polishing.

Lead Time

It will take about 3 - 5 working days for your item to be refurbished and ready for your collection. You will be notified via text when item is ready for collection.

Fees

Plating and polishing fee is dependant on product type and plating requirements. Smaller items like rings and pendants will cost lesser to plate and polish as compared to bigger items like thick chains and bangles. Items with stone settings and two-tone plating will also cost more for this service as additional steps is required on our end to achieve the ideal end result.

How Often Should I Plate & Polish My Jewellery?

We recommend only plating and polishing your jewellery when it is very dull and scratched. Usually up to once a year or once every few years depending on usage. For simple maintenance, you can opt for a more affordable and quick cleaning service that we are able to do in-store.

Colour Change

Plate your jewellery to another colour for a whole other look!

We offer plating service for your gold jewellery to the gollowing colours: Rose gold, white gold and yellow gold. If you would like to change up the colour of your jewellery, simply bring them to us for a plating service to the colour of your choice. The price differs depending on the size and design of your jewellery.

Do note that colour change via plating is not permanent and usually last about 6 months to a year depending on usage. Over time, with friction and wear, the plated colour will wear off and the original colour will start to show through. You can then send your jewellery for plating again.

Basic Cleaning

With regular wear, your gold jewellery will eventually accumulate a film of soap, dirt, body oils, and even grease. We are able to remove some of these accumulated substances that tends to dull your jewellery to give it the shine it deserves by using professional jewellery cleaning solution in our heated ultrasonic cleaner. If need be, we will also use a gentle bristle brush to brush out any dirt that is still visible.

Do note that very stubborn grime, scratches and any form of oxidisation cannot be removed by basic cleaning. We will be able to advise if basic cleaning or plating and polishing will be the more suited choice depending on the state of your jewellery upon assessment.

Lead Time

Basic cleaning is done in-store and you will be able to collect your item(s) within 30 minutes. Please note our operating hours and be aware that you might have to collect your items the next day should you visit us during the last 10 minutes of daily operations.

Fees

From $5 per item depending on it's state. Items with lots of stone settings usually requires alot more work as there are many nooks and crannies that dirt can be stuck in and that will require more work on our side to get them out. We will be able to provide you with a more accurate price quote upon seeing your item.
